The Fan Out Philosophy

  • We believe an advertising budget is an investment, with the media plan representing a portfolio of advertising opportunities intended to provide the desired return. Our approach? Building customized media plans for clients, that are diversified across digital and traditional platforms, and balance the quantity, quality, and cost-efficiency of the placements that deliver the brand message.

  • The strong relationships we’ve built with advertising platforms and vendor, allow us to negotiate the best rates, and access the best inventory for our clients.

  • While advertising only on digital platforms because they are “measurable” is a popular temptation, business success isn’t measured in page likes, or clicks. Real business results are measured by the front door, the telephone, and ultimately, the cash register. We build media plans that impact clients’ top-level business goals. We utilize any advertising opportunity, traditional, or digital, that help us do it most effectively.

  • You can’t get to your destination if you don’t budget enough for gas. The level of investment plays the most critical role in achieving both campaign, and business-level success. The right amount to spend on advertising is unique to each business, and should be based on an organizations financials, growth goals, and the given timeframe.

Chris Grass

President and Founder

With an advertising career spanning the client, agency, and sales sides of advertising, Chris leads Fan Out with an understanding of what it’s like to sit on all sides of the conference table.

Chris manages Fan Out’s day-to-day operations and uses his previous hands-on experience with both digital, and traditional media, to inform advertising strategy for all of Fan Out’s clients.

Chris started Fan Out because he observed that the paid media strategies that consistently performed, often did not conform to the “advertising best practices” most clients felt obligated to follow. With this perspective, Fan Out Media emerged, to offer a unique, pragmatic, and effective approach to paid media.

Our Office

Fan Out Media is located in the beautiful Viridescent Building in Falmouth, Maine. This structure is Maine's First Net Positive Passive House, built by the sustainability experts at Briburn Builders. This certified Passive House exceeds energy efficiency standards, generating over twice the energy it consumes, with a 19.4 kW solar array powering a vehicle charging station. It embodies Fan Out Media’s commitment to use resources responsibly.
